Erap reveals 'bribe' try to back out of race
BATANGAS, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - Former President Joseph Estrada revealed Tuesday that he has received offers to withdraw from the presidential race in exchange for a large amount of cash from a rival candidate.
In an ambush interview, Estrada said some go-betweens have been talking to him for the past 9 months trying to convince him to withdraw. In exchange, the go-between's principal will then reimburse his expenses incurred in the campaign.
The former president said he met his rival's go-betweens on two to three occasions, and the last meeting happened 2 weeks ago.
Asked who was behind the move, Estrada said: "I can't [say]. That's deniable. But probably, it's someone who has lots of money."
When asked whether it was a rival with the same campaign color (orange) as his, he said: "Ha, ha, ha, wala akong sinabing ganyan!" ("Ha, ha, ha, I didn't say that!")
Estrada said his rival was probably afraid of losing in the polls and wants to win over his supporters.
"Pwedeng natatakot, siguro gustong makuha suporta ko. Pero di nya makukuha suporta ko," he said.
("He/she may be afraid so he wants to win over my supporters. But he/she won't be able to do it.")
Estrada did not say how much money was offered, but said he refused it since he was insulted by the offer.
"I couldn't turn my back away from these people," Estrada said as the crowd behind him chanted, "Erap, Erap, Erap!"
'What will my allies say?'
Estrada added that he cannot turn his back on his political allies, especially those who have joined his team.
"Ano na lang sasabihin ko kay Senador Enrile, nandyan din ang aking anak si Senador Jinggoy, si [Makati City] Mayor [Jejomar] Binay. mawawalan sila ng ulo," he said.

Estrada said the rumors that he will withdraw from the presidential race may also be coming from his rivals.
Rumors of Estrada's alleged withdrawal from the presidential race have been reported since last year.
Estrada currently ranks third in recent presidential surveys with 11% or around one in 10 voters choosing him for president. (Read: Noynoy widens lead over Villar in new survey)
Interviewed in Tacloban City where he was campaigning, Senator Manny Villar of the Nacionalista Party (NP), the only rival of Estrada with the same campaign color, denied the insinuation that he asked Estrada to withdraw from the race in exchange for money.
Villar said he has even advised Estrada to just ignore calls for him to withdraw, adding that the former President was a formidable opponent.
Impact of Estrada withdrawal
Estrada's withdrawal from the presidential race coupled with an endorsement would allow Sen. Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III of the Liberal Party (LP) to widen his lead over Villar.
On the other hand, an Estrada endorsement of Villar would be a much-needed boost for the real estate tycoon, who was behind by 11 percentage points in the last survey commissioned by the LP camp. Villar was statistically tied with Aquino in a January 22-26, 2010 survey. (Read: Aquino, Villar tied in Pulse Asia survey)
Although Estrada's pro-poor platform is similar to Villar's, his running mate, Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay, is a close political ally of the Aquino family. (Watch video: Aquino-Binay tandem in the works?)
Other senatorial candidates of PMP were also with Estrada at the Batangas sortie. The group was warmly received in Batangas City before they made their way to the town of Ibaan.
Singer Rico Puno, who's running for vice-mayor in Makati, also came and sang "May Bukas Pa," and took the senatorial candidates on singing mode, with each one singing a verse then passing the mic to another.

“Villar is a dangerous president!” Ganito inilarawan ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile si Sen. Manny Villar kapag naihalal ito bilang pangulo ng bansa sa Mayo dahil inuubos nito ang kanyang kayamanan matupad lamang ang kanyang ambisyong maging pinakamataas na lider ng Pilipinas.
Ginawa ni Enrile ang pahayag sa panayam bilang reaksyon sa ibinunyag ni Sen. Richard Gordon ng Bagumbayan Party na prinesyuhan umano siya ng kampo ni Villar para umatras sa presidential race.
“Alam mo eh hindi na ako nagtaka dahil ako rin eh ganun ang nangyari,” ani Enrile nang lapitan diumano siya ni Villar sa kasagsagan ng C-5 road investigation at sinabi na “manong, matutulungan ko naman kayo ‘pag nangailangan kayo.”
Para kay Enrile, sa lahat ng tumatakbo sa presidency, si Villar ang pinakadelikadong pangulo kapag nanalo dahil wala itong takot na gumagastos nang husto para lamang makuha ang nasabing posisyon

How Manny Villar Became a Billionaire
1.0 He show that he is for the OFW's and he financed the plane tickets of the run away domestic helpers. Since when did he do this? only after he declare his intention to run as president. He want to buy OFW's vote by projecting that he is pro OFW's.
2.0 He and Daughter being guest at Wowowee and giving away house and lots..
3.0 Giving away scholarship to students within the campaign period.
4.0 Handing 20 peso bills to minors during campaign period not during christmas period..
He is pro poor but he took poor farmer's lands.. How can we expect him to lead our nation away from corrupt practices that we are in if he himself cannot be model.

Madaling maintindihan ang kwentong ito.
Mayroong mga magsasaka sa Norzagaray, Bulacan na matagal nang nagsasaka sa kanilang lupain. Ang ilan sa kanila’y mga anak ng mga Dumagat na nasa lupaing ito sa simula pa lamang ng bansa. Ilan din ay nasa lupain mula pa noong panahon ng Commonwealth kung kailan mga Amerikano pa ang nagpapalakad ng Pinas.
Napatituluhan nila ang kanilang lupain noon na lamang Abril 27, 1964. Binigyan sila ng Register of Deeds ng Bulacan ng titulo na Original Certificate of Title (OCT) No. P-858/ Free Patent No. 257917.
Marso 7, 1987 nasunog ang opisina ng Register of Deeds ng Bulacan.
Ang mga magsasaka’y humingi ng reconstitution of title sa korte ngunit, laking gulat nila nang tinutulan ito ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) dahil ang kanila raw lupain ay sakop ng titulo ng lupang pag-aari ng BSP sa hawak ng BSP na TCT T- 48694 P(M) na 485 ektaryang sakahan.
Papaano nangyari na binigyan sila ng titulo na ang ibig sabihin ay walang ibang nag-angkin nito hanggang 1964 kung kailan sila binigyan ng titulo tapos, nasunog lamang ang opisina ng Register of Deeds ay iba na ang may-ari? Paanong napunta ang lupain nila sa BSP?
Ganito ang nangyari. Nagpautang ang BSP sa Capitol Development Bank na pag-aari nina Manuel at Cynthia Villar, ang Speaker of the House at isang congresswoman, malalaking mga tao.
Hindi nakabayad ang bangko nila sa BSP kung kaya niremata ang lupaing kanilang sinanla sa BSP na mayroong anim na sunud-sunod na titulo mula TCT T-38651 P(M) hanggang T-38659 P(M). Galing naman ang anim na ito sa TCT T-1182 P(M). At ang orihinal naman na titulo ay OCT No. 287 ng Registry of Deeds ng Bulacan na napetsahan ng 25, July 1944. Ayon sa OCT na ito, ang titulo ay binigay sa ilalim ng kapangyarihan ng Sec.122 of Act 496 ng Land Registration Act ng United States of America.
Bakit nabigyan ng OCT ang mga magsasaka noong 1964 kung kailan ay kumpleto pa ang lahat ng titulo sa Register of Deeds ng Bulacan (bago ito nasunog) mula pa noong panahon ng Kastila. Di kaya na ang ibig sabihin noon ay walang nakitang hadlang ang Register of Deeds sa hiling ng mga magsasaka para sa kanilang titulo? E, bakit pagkatapos masunog ang mga titulo ng Register of Deeds ay biglang nagkaroon na ng hadlang ang titulo ng mga magsasaka?
Meron bang mga titulo na ginawa noong panahon ng Hapon (1944) na alinsunod sa batas ng United States of America? Maaari bang mangyari ang ganito?
Ang sagot naman ng mga Villar sa problema ng mga magsasaka ng Norzagaray ay ganito: Na-dismiss na ang parehong kaso na iniharap sa Ombudsman kung kaya hindi na nila sasagutin kung anuman ang problema ng mga magsasaka. Ang masama nito ay kung walang magpapaliwanag, nagmumukhang peke ang titulong pinaremata ni Manny Villar sa BSP. Totoo man o hindi, kapag nanalo siya sa pagka-pangulo, saan pa maaaring tumakbo ang mga magsasaka ng Norzagaray para makamit ang katarungan? O, wala na ba silang pag-asa?
Mrs Cynthia Villar, president of Capitol Development Bank, has to run for cover financially to BSP (Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas) and borrowed 1.5 Billion during the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis using fake TCT's which pertain to farmlands own by poor farmers in Norzagaray Bulacan. The Villars regain and recoup their losses and they are now financially sound with more than 500 Million USD in assets and whose expense ordinary farmers who are fighting to get back their land title against BSP not with the Villars..
He also took advantage of his advance information on SM development plan such as the SM Baliuag where they bought large tract of farm lands three years ago and six months later we came to know that SM Baliaug will be constructed adjacent to lands bought by Villar. A high end housing " PROMINENZA" was developed and later change to CAMELLA. The farmers were fuming mad because Villar's men took advantage of them and they were short changed at the end of the bargaining..
I am sure Villar will not get Bulakeno's vote since they are afraid to lost their titled lands like me...even if Susan Ople is with his NP..
