Pichay: Gibo is my candidate, not Villar
MANILA, Philippines - Lakas-Kampi stalwart Prospero Pichay on Wednesday denied reports that he is abandoning administration candidate Gilberto Teodoro Jr. for Nationalista Party's Manuel Villar Jr.
"That's not true," he told Newsbreak when asked to comment on the reports.
In a statement e-mailed to reporters by Liberal Party (LP) president Manuel Roxas II, the LP said the real administration candidate should be revealed.
Quoting LP director general Chito Gascon, the statement said: "Rumors that [DILG secretary Ronaldo] Puno and Pichay are transferring to Villar's camp only further confirm speculations that Villar is the real presidential pick of President Arroyo. Puno and Pichay are said to be on top of negotiations between the administration coalition Lakas-Kampi CMD and other political parties," Gascon said in the statement.
Pichay laughed off the LP statement. "My comment is simple. I cannot recall appointing Mar Roxas as my spokesman. If he wants to apply, I might consider him. Baka nakuha nya ang chismis sa palengke," Pichay said.
The LP statement said the party is expecting Villar to lose supporters. They cited the Pulse Asia Survey showing that 7 out of 10 voters will not vote for President Arroyo's candidate.
"Villar is the real candidate of President Arroyo. That is why this Pulse Asia survey is really bad news for 'Villaroyo' rather than Gibo," Gascon added.
A laughing Pichay said the survey means that Teodoro will win. "It means 30% of voters will vote for Gibo. Gibo will win because the other candidates will share the 70%," he said.
He said it's not true that Villar is the real candidate of President Arroyo.
"We also do not recall appointing the Liberal Party as spokesman of GMA," he said. (Newsbreak)

G.T. for 2016
Unfortunately, it's too difficult to justify Teodoro at this time after what has happened during Ondoy and in Maguindanao. People with high standards will just not vote him. It does not matter how much he does if all that he did was "after the fact". That's how it is and that's life.
But I hope that if he's using much of his money (and someone else's .. being a decoy for them), that he stops since it will only go down the drain. His money will be needed for his 2016 campaign.
And to help you people who likes Gibo as I do, here is what we should urge him to do after the elections:
1. Dissociate himself from Kampi party and the Arroyos. Be an independent or form another party. He should not join LP, NPC, or NP since that will just make people think he is a turncoat.
2. Lead a very worthy NGO. Something related to Disaster Relief or Private Army Disarmament. Be aggresive in it and strive for visible and sustainable success.
3. Be close to the poor and the activists and be a strong defender of them.
4. Press the AFP and the Police to strive harder to deserve the love and trust of the people.
5. Be an INTEGRITY (anti-corruption) advocate. He should distance himself from highly questionable people.
6. Run for President in the next election.
If he does all the above, Roxas will face a tough competition in 2016. When he wins, the Philippines is on its direction to be a much greater country again.
For now, someone else has to pave the way for him.

Medyo nakakaturn off po talaga ang mga kandidatong wala ng ginawa kundi manira ng mga katunggali sa pagka pangulo. I admire Gibo for being man enough to avoid such a practice in mudslinging. Pero, it does not mean I will vote for him. At this point in time, we should all keep our cool and look for the best candidate. We still have 2+ months and I am sure there are still a lot of things that will happen in that horizon.
Easy lang po. Itikom na lang natin ang bibig kung di maganda, kung di sigurado at kung walang basehan at galing lang sa mga kuro kuro ang mga sasabihin natin.Ok lang naman po na ibida natin ang mga kandidato natin pero sana wag na tayo manira ng mga ibang kandidato para maiangat ang mga manok natin. Sa pananaw ko po, a follower is a reflection of the leader (idol) he supports.
Real Candidate
Sino po ba ang tinutukoy nyong real candidate ni PGMA? Si Villar po ba? Paano po kayo nakasiguro? Sa tingin po ba nyo eh magpapaka engot si Gibo na gamitin sya ng administrasyon para mapahiya sa darating na eleksyon?
Madali po mag sabi at mag turo pero kadalasan mahirap po patunayan ang mga haka haka na base lamang sa kuro kuro at usap usapan...
No point...
Gibo and Erap are just both decoys of the administration. It's already obvious who the real candidate of the administration is. Common sense!

it's easy for us to pinpoint our fingers to G1BO on what had happened during ondoy and ampatuan.. but to walk the talk is a different story.. kulang na lang sabihin nyo na si G1BO ang mastermind sa massacre sa ampatuan, and sabihin niyo na sugo niya ang bagyong ondoy.. if you were the NDCC chairman and at the same time the DND sec, what have you done then?G1BO is not a superhero, he also had his own limitations..
i'll firmly believe on my stand that G1BO is the only presidentiable who has the character and competence..

He was the Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC). How many rescue boats where available during Ondoy? Five? How many people died? Was it all due to an Act of God? Or was it negligence and ill-preparedness?
He was the Secretary of the Department of National Defense. Did he know that Ampatuan had a private army (if he didn't know then he would be an INUTILE with all the intelligence fund he has at his disposal)? How many innocent people died? Was it avoidable or was it because he made the mistake on choosing which was the lesser evil, Political Risk or Risk to Human Lives.
After all the corruption under the current administration, is he supporting it or is he condemning it?
