MILF endorses 'fatwa' against Estrada
MANILA, Philippines - Muslim separatist rebels on Saturday declared deposed ex-leader Joseph Estrada an enemy of Islam and called on Philippine voters to reject his bid to become president again.
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) endorsed a "fatwa" or religious edict by a group of Muslim scholars in Mindanao Island, the heartland of the large Islamic minority, ahead of the May elections.
"After studying the actions and policies of Mr. Estrada before and after his election as president until this present time, we found out that he is really an enemy of Islam," MILF quoted the Bangsamoro Supreme Council of Ulama as saying.
Ex-movie star Estrada, who publicly opposes peace talks, is polling in third place in the opinion polls, 9 years after he was ousted in a bloodless military coup that followed his impeachment for corruption.
"The rightly-guided ulama, as true guardians of the Islamic faith ... have all the right to issue a fatwa against those who, by their actions, have proved to be inimical to Islam, our Moro nation, and the right of self-determination of our people," the MILF said on its website.
The fatwa said his military campaign caused widespread destruction, desecrated holy sites, and displaced a million Filipino Muslims.
"He has publicly announced that once elected as president, his priority is to make war against the MILF, which is currently holding peace talks with government, again," it added.

I'm almost out of changes......
I'll throw in my two bits as well. Hindi na kailangan ang separation of state. We just need to understand what democrazy means. We just can't allow our prejudice and paranoia to take hold of our rationality. And to those who should know better with education in higher learning, you have an obligation to help those who needs to understand. You can attract more bees with honey naman. Hate is such a destructive path to take and those of us who have seen the end effect have the understanding that it can't be taken back. It's very easy to destroy or hurt another, pero healing requires a lot of hard work from both side and you have to be willing to compromise your belief and your well being. This land doesn't belong to us, we belong in it. So who is to say that you are right and they are wrong? Pinoy and Pinay tayong lahat!

Tama ka. They tend to separate themselves. They do not consider themselves as Filipino. Kung sa resume or application form, ay inilagay nila sa CITIZESHIP ay "MUSLIM OR MUSLIM FILIPINO. Hindi nila consider na sila ay Filipino. At hindi nila gusto ang batas ng Pilipinas, kaya gusto sila na may separate State. Kasi sa Islam, ang government at relihiyon ay iisa kaya may Sharia law. Kaya para sa kanila hindi pwede na iisang batas lang ang mamahala sa atin. Yan ang problema. Political Islam ang problema.

NGUNIT kontra po ako sa mga taong hndi uma-ayon sa batas..pumapatay ng tao pra sa sariling kapakanan... mapa-muslim man o kristyano man... lahat ng nasa pilipinas.. ay dpat erespeto ang batas nito... kng kaylangang girahin ang mga kumakalaban nito, ay dapat girahin.. iisang bansa po tayo...dpat po iisang batas ang mamamahala sa atin..regardless of our religion...

the Bangsamoro Supreme Council of Ulama is different from the MILF. It is the organization of Bangsamoro Islamic Schoolar who has a high knowledge on Islam. wag no sabihin na walang epikto ung decleration ng BSCU because our ULAMA had a great influence to Bangsamoro muslims.
MILF has nothing to do with the decleration of BSCU it is the people of Lanao who wants to issue that FATWA by our great ULAMAS.

He ignored criticism from several groups he instead make negotiation to Abu Sayyaf (bandit) and declared war to MILF (rebel). It created irritation among Muslim countries that many OFW’s are working. Erap’s Presidency is a nightmare we don’t want that to happen again. Erap and other former presidents including GMA after their terms end should be better serve as barangay captain if they are serious to continue serving the people. Erap should be better charge with genocide for the results of war in Mindanao. His character seems to be like killing people instead of peace.
