Edu snubs vice-presidential debate
MANILA, Philippines (Update 1) - Lakas-Kampi CMD vice-presidential candidate Edu Manzano snubbed a nationally televised debate among vice-presidential candidates at La Consolacion College in Manila Sunday evening.
TV news anchor Ted Failon said Manzano was the only vice-presidential bet to refuse an invitation to participate in the debate, which was shown simultaneously on ABS-CBN Channel 2 and the ABS-CBN News Channel. Among those who participated in the debate were senators Loren Legarda and Manuel "Mar" Roxas, broadcaster Jay Sonza, former Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando, former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Perfecto Yasay Jr. and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay.
A tweet on the Halalan live chat later said Manzano was in Pangasinan campaigning with Lakas-Kampi senatorial bet Raul Lambino.
Manzano's absence was criticized by several people in an online forum hosted by abs-cbnNEWS.com. Previous reports said Manzano was disheartened by his political party's lack of financial support for his vice-presidential bid.
Noted Paz Atienza: "It's a shame that Edu is not present. To think his presidential candiate is always present in all debates."
Another reader, Kalupindo, asked Manzano: "Bakit ka um-absent sa Harapan? Sumusuko ka na ba? (Are you giving up?)"
Still another reader, etianboi, asked if Manzano "was afraid of a debate."
One reader, however, had a different take on Manzano's absence. In his message, reader anthonyrbls said Manzano's decision not to appear in the televised debate "is far better than [Loren Legarda's appearance/televised suicide."

The only thing this guy has is his popularity in the world of make believe. I don't think he'll do good in the real world. If you want me to rate him...hmmmm, he's on the same plane as lito lapid, who is still dreaming and doesn't know where he is until now. I don't think this kind of politicians has something to contribute to the on-going problems of our country. They can contribute to the problems but never to the solution. So, I can say that it was good for edu not to show up during the vice presidential debate. Are we not tired of hearing non sense? I have nothing against edu, he is a good man and I am one of his fan but I think politics is not for him. Go back to the movies where I am sure you are one of the best.

Manzano not attending the debate is a slap on the face for Teodoro's candidacy. Manzano not attending this debate, is basically stating " Don't vote for me, Don't waste your time on me, wala ako kwenta. "
He seriously should just withdraw he is just embarassing himself...

Solidarity should be in question to the intent of Mr. Manzano and his candidacy.

-Make your statement, defend your side, baka tuluyan kang masira sa publiko.
-Come to think of it, in the future if you are importantly needed, pag-vice kana di pwedeng sasabihin mo sa amin you could have come pero nagkakamot pa ako dito eh.
Solidarity should be in question to the Lakas Kampi - CMD Party to their nomination of Mr. Manzano and the rest of their members that are running this election.

-Gamitin bang pang-bungad, ang galing naman, mahiya naman kayo kay Mr. Manzano, he'll never be the same again, even him thought of all of you this way I bet.

These are just my own thoughts, isang boto lang naman ako, it shouldn't make a difference. Pero mag-isip kayo kung marimi ang mag-iisisp ng tulad ko. Ngayon pa lang, change your tactics. Don't make it too controversial. It's a bad publicity.
The month of May is drawing near, I would like to sincerely think that Mr. Teodoro has won my vote. I have heard his points and views to the many questions thrown at him, he had me convinced.
I'm having second thoughts. Are these indications of how you would run the country? I am maybe in need of re-defining my stand of whom to support. After all, it is us who will suffer for the future governments failure.

Sabi nyo you are in agreement to all your intentions for the country, mga gusto nyong magpabago ng lipunan ng inyong partido ang isusulong, kaya, kayo ang mga dapat na mahalal.
