Constitutionalist Isagani Cruz passes away

MANILA - One of the great constitutionalists of the Philippines, former Supreme Court Justice Isagani A. Cruz, passed away on Thursday morning due to a lingering illness.
He was 88.
Cruz was appointed by then President Corazon Aquino on April 16, 1986. He reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 on October 11, 1994.
