MANILA - Team PNoy senatorial candidate Loren Legarda on Friday admitted that she once had a crush on United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial bet Gringo Honasan.

In an interview with radio dzMM's "SRO" hosted by Alvin Elchico and Atty. Katrina Legarda, the 52-year-old female senator admitted that she once adored Honasan when he was a rebel leader.

"Crush ko 'yan dati eh, nung siya'y rebelde... Nung siya'y rebel leader, lahat pati mga media editors, lahat may crush kay Gringo Honasan," Legarda, a former broadcast journalist, said.

"All of us. Come on, Katrina Legarda, aminin mo ikaw din," she added, teasing the lawyer.

Honasan was a leader of the Reform the Armed Forces Movement (RAM), which helped bring down the Marcos dictatorship via the EDSA people power in February 1986.

He was also involved in several coup attempts post-February 1986. His group later signed a peace agreement with the Ramos administration.

Legarda expressed surprised that her colleague in the Senate is already 65 years old.

"65 ka na? No, imposible. Ni hindi ko alam senior citizen na siya," she said.

Honasan, in the same program, said he had and still has a crush on Legarda.

Legarda has been leading pre-election surveys along with Senator Chiz Escudero, who is also running under Team PNoy.
