Andaya vows to remain loyal to Gibo, Lakas
MANILA, Philippines - Former Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya on Thursday denied reports that he'll also abandon Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro in favor of Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
A day after Arroyo's economic adviser Albay Gov. Joey Salceda quit the ruling party for Aquino, Andaya said he is "sticking it out with Gibo and the Lakas party." (Read: Salceda bolts Lakas, joins LP)
"I have not sent feelers to the Liberals and none have been sent to me. No offer has been made and none shall be accepted. I am happy where I am now," Andaya said in a statement.
"Although it is becoming fashionable to don new party colors as we head towards the homestretch of the campaign, I will not change mine," he added.
Andaya, who is seeking to reclaim his old seat as representative of the 1st district of Camarines Sur, said he still believes that "Gibo remains the best man for the job."
He said survey numbers and political alignments may change in the election, but his support for Teodoro "remains constant."
"And for as long as he is then I will remain by his side," he said.
With only a few weeks left before the polls, Aquino was ahead by 12 percentage points in the latest March 21-28 Pulse Asia presidential survey with 37% choosing him from 9 presidential bets. Closest rival Sen. Manny Villar fell 4 points and was chosen by 25%. (Click here for story.)
CamSur redistricting for Andaya, Dato Arroyo
On April 6, the Supreme Court cleared all the legal obstacles in the creation of a new district in Camarines Sur.
Voting 9-5-1, the high tribunal upheld Republic Act 9716 creating an additional district by separating six towns in the province’s 1st and 2nd congressional districts.
The law creating the new district was passed despite criticisms that it failed to meet the minimum population requirement prescribed by the 1987 Constitution.
It was perceived to be a form of accommodation for presidential son Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal Arroyo and Andaya. (Click here for story.)
The youngest son of President Arroyo is occupying the former position of Andaya, who was forced to step down in 2007 because of constitutional term limits. He served the maximum allowable three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2007.

Lahat yan at iba pang magaganda para sa Pilipinas at sa Pilipino ay mangyayari sa susunod na sampung taon kung ating iboboto ay mga taga LP.

To Gibo supporters,
Lakas-Kampi ship is singking. Even the founder, FVR, is dismayed at what is already happening within this party.
Lakas-CMD was the party that used to have strong good principles. However, it was messed up by the alignment with Kampi. Even FVR did not agree with the merger.
Why did Teodoro move to Lakas-Kampi? It's because he thinks NPC could not support his ambition. He thinks Lakas-Kampi would be a good springboard for him. He does not intend nor ever expect to win. But by helping GMA and Villar, he can further his ambition if Villar wins.
Gibo does not care about Lakas-Kampi anymore. He has already used it and he does not have use for it anymore. Just listen to what Manglapus is saying.
You guys are being used by Gibo, GMA, and Villar. Once you have been used, they'l just take care of their own business and forget about service to the Filipinos.
So move-in with us. Don't be deceived. Be a winner. Vote for LP straight. Let's use LP for our benefit. LP will serve the Philippines and the Filipinos towards Super Philippines.
