The Department of Justice has ordered the Bureau of Immigration to place Ted Failon on its watch list.

Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez explained on Thursday that Failon is considered a suspect at this time.

Gonzalez has also ordered the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) to stop meddling with Failon's case.

The justice secretary maintained PAO chief Persida Acosta cannot represent Failon unless she is ordered by the court to assist him.

“It's none of their business. they are not supposed to do that. It is not within their mandate,” Gonzalez said. “I will charge them if they insist on handling the case.

“I already called Acosta and I also sent her a memo. She can’t represent conflicting interest unless the court orders her to assist Failon on the spot,” he added. “What I don’t like is that she already talked to the relatives of the wife and to forensic experts and is contemplating on helping them file charges.”    J

Gonzalez has also ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to look into the shooting of Failon's wife.

Gonzalez said the NBI will be assisting in the Philippine National Police's probe of the incident.
