Revilla camp: If Napoles turns around, it means she was forced
MANILA – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla’s lawyer Atty. Joel Bodegon insisted anew that his client is not involved in the multi-billion peso pork barrel scam.
In a press statement released Tuesday afternoon, Bodegon said Revilla has conducted his own investigation to find out who are behind the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) controversy and bring them “before the bar of justice.”
According to Bodegon, Revilla filed a civil suit against those who initially confirmed their involvement in the scam.
Revilla also allegedly filed a criminal counter-charge with the Ombudsman against the people he deemed responsible for misusing his pork barrel funds.
Bodegon stressed that alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles once denied making transactions with the office of Senator Revilla and that the lawmaker had nothing to do with the controversy.
Should Napoles deny her previous statement, Bodegon said it would only mean she was forced to do it.
“If ever she gives statement to the contrary, that would mean that she was forced to do so at the sacrifice of the truth--what with all the cases filed against her and her family and whatever other pressures that have been brought to bear upon her.”
