Ping preparing new revelations against GMA
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) - The plunder case filed yesterday against former president and now Pampanga representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo may just be the start as Senator Panfilo Lacson is preparing new exposés against the former president.
Lacson said he has in his possession several documents that would prove more instances of corruption during the Arroyo administration.
Lacson told reporters that a number of people have contacted him, expressing intention to show more documents that would pin down the former President and prove her involvement in the misuse of funds.
Lacson said these anomalies can be categorized as plunder as these involve billions of pesos.
“Wala namang hindi plunder e, kasi maliit yung P50 million. Sa lahat ng anomalya, pinag-uusapan natin, daang milyon o kaya bilyon so malamang plunder talaga babagsak,” he said.
Lacson said the tipsters are ordinary citizens who are formerly with the government and may have had access to documents. He did not give details, saying he would be reviewing the documents at the resumption of the session at the Senate.
Lacson was speaking to reporters after the inauguration of the seven kilometer R-1 extension project of the Manila-Cavite toll expressway in Kawit where President Aquino was also present.
Aquino acknowledged Lacson, saying he was happy to see the senator.
Lacson told reporters that by planning new exposes against former President Arroyo, he wanted to contribute to the Aquino administration’s fight against corruption.
“It’s about time na i-explain niya talaga sa taumbayan kung ano talaga ang nangyari sa siyam na taon, napakaraming kaso ng anomalya, napakaraming kaso ng kurapsyon. I think Juan dela Cruz deserves an explanation or two from the former president.”
Reacting to yesterday’s filing of plunder charges against Arroyo over the alleged misuse of OWWA funds, Lacson said “it’s about time” that plunder charges be filed against Mrs. Arroyo and he is hopeful that the case would reach its “logical conclusion.”
“It’s about time kasi it’s been almost a year and hindi pa natin napapanagot yung dapat managot.
