No FOI, RH approvals before PNoy's SONA
MANILA, Philippines - House Speaker Sonny Belmonte on Monday said the reproductive health (RH) and the freedom of information (FOI) bills won't be passed before the State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino this year.
He blamed the lack of time for the lower House's failure to pass the bills.
He said that the 2 bills are not a priority because there are more important measures that are being prioritized.
He said other legislation like the anti-trust law need to be approved to help the country's economy.
Belmonte, meanwhile, explained why his net worth ballooned to P700 million in 2011 from P200 million in 2010.
He said the increase in his net worth came from the Philippine Star shares he sold to Manny Pangilinan.
