MANILA - Social media users expressed optimism that newly appointed Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization Secretary Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan will deliver and "make a big difference" in government.

On Tuesday, TV Patrol asked on Facebook: "Ano sa tingin mo ang magagawa ni dating Senador Kiko Pangilinan sa natitirang 2 taong panunungkulan ni PNoy?"

Having been elected as the majority leader during the 12th Congress, netizens said they believe that Pangilinan can do a lot because he had already proven himself.

One Facebook user wished Pangilinan luck. "God bless po. Sana magampanan ng ayos at tama ang tungkulin."

Although some showed support, there were still a few who expressed disapproval.

The former senator took his oath Tuesday afternoon in Malacañang.
