Chiz blasts 'kid glove treatment' for Napoles

MANILA - Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero is questioning the continued stay of Janet Lim Napoles in the hospital and is wondering why prosecutors and the police are not insisting that she be moved back to Fort Sto. Domingo as stipulated in the court order.

"Why is she being treated with kid gloves?" Escudero asked.

Escudero reiterated his call for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to publicize the list of other lawmakers allegedly involved in the pork barrel scam, saying it would be "unfair" for the secretary to wait for the Senate to compel her when she could do it herself even while there is no hearing scheduled in the Senate.

He said it appears that Napoles is employing a "tactic" to muddle things up and delay the case.

Escudero said.

He reiterated that Napoles is not qualified to be a state witness, saying she is not the least guilty in the case and that her statements contradict that of the whistleblowers.
