According to their spokesperson, the Coast Guard personnel have been sending feelers to the NBI that they want to surrender.
However, they were encountering problems in getting a lawyer and they also still had to raise funds to be able to pay for their bail.
The eight Coast Guard men charged with homicide for the shooting of 65-year-old Hong Shi Cheng on May 9, 2013 off Balintang Channel were:
- Seamen 1st Class Edrando Aguila
