Binay: I think I’ve won!
MANILA, Philippines - Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay on Wednesday said he is confident he has won the vice presidency defeating Liberal Party bet Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas in the 2010 elections.
“I think I've won,” said Binay in an interview at the Makati City Hall.
The latest partial and unofficial results released by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting – Kapisanan ng Brodkasters ng Pilipinas shows Binay leading with 13,327,990 votes while Roxas has 12,541,222 or a difference of 786,768. PPCRV-KBP indicated that the partial results were as of 8:01 p.m., May 12 and was constituted from election results transmitted by the Commission on Elections to their server from 89.03% of clustered precincts.
Binay confidently said that his standing would no longer change.
He, however, reiterated that a change in his standing could only be brought upon by cheating.
“Kung mababago iyon, eh babaguhin na lamang iyon sa di tamang pamamaraan,” said Binay.
Binay even had time to dismiss the text message jokes circulating pertaining to his dark-colored skin.
“Kasing-itim, kasing tangkad at kasingtanda,” said Binay.
Binay’s camp also reiterated its allegation that a “special operations” for electoral cheating has been launched by the camp of Roxas in Mindanao and areas in Visayas where Roxas is strong.
Lito Anzures, Binay’s spokesman, said the transmissions of election results are being purposely delayed in these areas.
“Ewan namin bakit nade-delay at ang sinasabi nade-delay doon sa balwarte noong kalaban,” said Anzures.
“No truth to cheating”
A charge which Liberal Party senatorial bet Franklin Drilon strongly denied.
“We deny that, no truth to that! Part of their propaganda,” said Drilon on Wednesday during a press conference.
Drilon said he still believes that Roxas can "win by a hairline."
Drilon reported that in Iloilo, Roxas has a lead of around 310,000 votes, with eight towns and a component city yet to be canvassed. (Read LP: Roxas can still win by a 'hairline')
Drilon claimed he also received information from former National Power Corp. (NPC) president Jesus Alcordo in Cebu that Roxas won by roughly 1.05 million votes over Binay in the vote-rich province. He also quoted Negrense businessman Bitay Lacson that Roxas' lead in Negros is in excess of 500,000 votes.
"This already gives Mar more than one and a half million votes from these Visayan bailiwicks alone, as against Binay's lead which now stands at roughly 800,000 votes," Drilon said.
He criticized the camp of Binay for claiming that the LP would conduct "special operations" in Mindanao to reverse the lead of Binay.
Congress will convene on May 31 for the official canvassing of the votes for president and vice-president.
Lawyer Joe Nathan P. Tenefrancia, Aquino-Roxas Bantay Balota (ARBB) Over-all Deputy National Coordinator, stressed: "The official results of the vice presidential race will only come once the NBC [National Board of Canvassers] has completed its canvassing. It's very early to be celebrating or planning out offices and even to begin hiring staff personnel."
Roxas, meanwhile, has made himself scarce after the election and considering that it would be his birthday on Thursday.
Binay, meanwhile, gave Roxas an advance birthday greeting.
“This comes straight from the heart, I wish you the best, happy birthday,” said Binay. With a report from Niña Corpuz, ABS-CBN News
Congratulations to the Last Air Bender!
The prophesy has been fulfilled. Air rules. The Fire of Mar and Gay Gibo is extinguished. Metal is corroding. Water continues. And Ether is waiting.
I can't wait to watch the 3D male-version of Avatar: The Last Airbender at IMAX on July 2, after the presidential inauguration. James Cameron's 3D gay-version of Avatar sucks!
Hobbits, may the Force be with you!

BINAY: I THINK I'VE WON..........
OH BINAY, DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH... YOU MIGHT TURN BLUE AND DIE! LOL.....
@solitude
+1 :)
it will be better if Mar won't win as VP
I think it will be better if Mar won't win as VP. Noy might give him a better position wherein he would extend his abilities as public servant. VP is just an added position waiting for the president to give him task to work on
Oops!
Wrong blog
@Peter_UK
Hey Pete,
What's going on across the pond, man. Just saw it in the news yesterday that Brown is resigning. Has everyone in the old country gone mad as well with this the New World Order effect? Hahaha! Damn Brits...gotta love 'em.
Sorry for Jacking the blog....
Simple Math
Region 6: Registered Voters = 4M
Region 7: Registered Voters = 4M
Assuming 75% Voter Turnout:
Region 6: Voted = 3M
Region 7: Voted = 3M
Counted so far: To be counted:
Region 6: 2.42M .58M
Region 7: 2.15M .85M
Binay/Mar Ration: 1:4
Of the remaining votes to be counted, Mar will get 1,072500 votes while Binay only gets 357,000. With Binay's present lead, BINAY WINS!
Roxas does not need to be VP.
If Binay wins, Roxas gets the top cabinet position to improve the economy of the Philipines. Perhaps Secretary of Finance or Trade and Industry. The administration might even bundle departments together under him. He has the capability to bring up the Philippines to be the strongest in Southeast Asia.
As I said earlier, VP is just a standby position without an official duty as described by the Constitution.
let the wheel turn
Hindi na kailangan ang drama between these two. Both are electable and I'll take either one. The only issue that I see in difference is that Noy and Mar are from the same party which bind them closer which they have the understanding or focus towards the same agenda. Else Mar can still play an important part of the administration or even Mr. Binay for that matter. It all depend in where his heart is at sa mga issues. Basta, let the wheel turn and we just need to standby and watch our elected in support or in keeping things honest. Lets move forward guys, these peeps have lots of work to do.
So ngayon it is the LP's turn
So ngayon it is the LP's turn to deny na nandadaya sila.
Mas mabuti niyan tanggapin niyo na si Binay at huwag ng magsalita na makakahabol pa si Roxas. Ang logic dito ay iwasan na magkaroon ng alitan ang dalawang kampo that could lead to another Cory-Laurel and Arroyo-Guingona.
