Binay to Noynoy: 'You can sleep soundly with me as your VP'
MANILA, Philippines - Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay has not officially won the vice presidential race, but he is already looking forward to working hand in hand with leading presidential candidate, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
“Noynoy, matutulog ka nang mahimbing sa akin. Sa hirap at ginhawa, itinaya na natin ang buhay natin sa Edsa. Hindi ko aagawin ang puwesto mo,” Binay said in a press conference at his office in Makati City on Wednesday.
Binay has had a long history with the Aquino family. He joined the August 21 movement when Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. was assassinated in 1983.
The Makati City mayor stood by the side of late President Corazon Aquino when she ran for president in the 1985 snap elections and through the 1986 Edsa Revolution.
Sitting as the new president, Mrs. Aquino made her first appointment, installing Binay as mayor of Makati City.
Binay said he is sure that the young Aquino knows, he "won’t let his President down."
“Alam naman ni Noynoy na handa akong tumulong. Ako ay team player. Bakit hindi ko siya susuportahan kung siya ang gusto ng taong bayan?” he said.
Binay hopes that if he wins the vice presidential race and Noynoy Aquino asks him what department he would like to take on, he said he will ask for the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
"Iyan ang expertise ko. Ako ang pinaka-senior local government official at kauna-unahang acting mayor after the Edsa Revolution,” he said.
A week before the elections, Binay told ABS-CBN News' Karen Davila in an interview over ANC that Aquino told him that he would be installed as DILG secretary.
Aquino later admitted the he offered the cabinet position to Binay, but that was before the mayor declared he is running for vice president.

BINAY: IN YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!
BINAY WAS UP FOR SOMETHING AND HAS HIDDEN AGENDA. 2 DAYS BEFORE THE PROCLAMATION OF HIS WINNING IN CONGRESS LAST WEEK. HE ALREADY APPEARED ON NEWS HINTING TO GET THE DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL AND INTERIOR GOVERNMENT POSITION WITH A BIG BUDGET? WHAT THE HELL IS HIS PLATFORM REALLY? I THOUGHT HE IS RUNNING FOR THIS VP POSITION TO HELP CURVE CORRUPTION AND HELP THE FILIPINO PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY SUFFERING. BUT WHY IS HE ASKING A BIG BUDGET ALREADY? DOESN'T HE GET IT THAT WE ARE GOING TO START FROM THE SCRATCH AND FROM THE TRILLION DEBTS THAT ARROYO WILL LEAVE BEHIND?
HE SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED AT ALL. THIS GUY WANTS HIS HANDS FIRST INSIDE THE PORK BARREL SO HE COULD SUPPORT HIS INFIDELITIES (HOUSES FOR HIS MISTRESSES)AND HIS CRONIES. HE AND TAERAP IS NO DIFFERENT, BUT TO GET THE POWER AND GRAB MORE MONIES FROM THE FILIPINO PEOPLE.
I HOPE NOYNOY AQUINO WILL SEE THIS AND WILL BE SMART NOT TO GIVE THIS GUY A PROMINENT POSITION IN THE GOVERNMENT.
BINAY SHOULD BE ASSIGN TO TAKE CARE OF THE PEACE PROCESS IN MINDANAO (HE WANTS LOCAL, FINE! PLEASE P-NOY GIVE HIM THIS LOCAL). THAT WOULD BE HIS GREAT CONTRIBUTION. BUT I DOUBT IF HE WILL ACCEPT IT. HE WANTS THE EASY MONEY AND NOT THE HARD WAY.
BINAY IS NOTHING BUT AN OPPORTUNIST AND HE IS WORST THAN VILLAROYO! HE IS VERY INSECURE AND DETERMINE TO GET WHAT HE WANTS AS LONG AS THE BIG BUDGET (PORK BARREL) IS THERE.. IS WANT TO BE THE #1 TO GET IT. SO DISGUSTED!!!

Binay is trying to woo the LP camp. This is one aggressive person who would do everything to win.
I would advise the LP camp to refrain from saying anything negative to Binay or just be fair na lang until matapos ang bilangan. If manalo si Binay, tanggapin na nila. If not, baka si Binay pa ang maghanap ng butas na ikasisira ng bagong administrasyon. Remember Cory-Laurel? Arroyo-Guingona?
Binay like Mar Roxas is intelligent and possibly more cunning. He like many Filipinos knows Aquino's weakness and given the chance he will capitalize on it. Baka ang mangyari pa niyan, magkaroon ng bagong People Power with Binay replacing Noynoy if hindi mag-iingat ang LP camp.
Don't say na imposible yan. Nangyari yan kay Erap despite the fact na sobrang dami ng taong bumoto kay Erap nuon. Madaling mauto ang masa through mind conditioning at diyan magaling si Binay. So I would strongly advise the LP to try to get Binay on their side kahit na manalo si Mar. The lesser the problems, the better for the new administration.
Then again, there's also Arroyo moving her people like pieces in a chessboard.
Parang teleserye na ang nangyayari sa gobyerno natin. I eagerly await the outcome.

I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF THIS UTANG NA LOOB THING INSIDE OUR GOVERNENT. UTANG NA LOOB TO FELLOW GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OR ANY PUBLIC SERVANTS SHOULD BE BAN AND THERE SHOULD BE A LAW PROHIBITING FOR PRACTICING THIS AND IF CAUGHT SHOULD BE DISMISS FROM GOVERNMENT SERVICE. THIS "UTANG NA LOOB OR HUGE FAVOR" IS THE ONCE THAT REALLY MAKES OUR COUNTRY LOOKS LIKE A COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT. To Noynoy,
You promised us voters that you had closed the offer to Binay on DILG. The fact that he went against you means he is only interested for himself and his family to be in power. He is the opposite of Roxas who sacrificed and gave way to you.
DILG should be given to one of your senate candidates who didn't make it or your LP campaign team members who deserve since they fought for you.
Give Binay a non-Cabinet position.
