MANILA - Malacanang is keeping mum on whether or not the government is investigating the National Irrigation Administration for widespread corruption.
On at least two occasions, President Aquino talked about an agency that has drawn his ire over widespread corruption.

The President did not name the agency as it is still being investigated.
Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma did not confirm nor deny that the President was referring to NIA.

"There is an ongoing process to analyze and evaluate the actions taken by certain officials of a certain agency; and the President has seen fit not to give further information that may affect the ongoing process. But there will be a timely announcement made on that as soon as the process has been completed," he said.

Coloma stressed government is still working on the case and that he has no information if a deadline has been imposed.

"Wala pong indikasyon hinggil doon. Hintayin na lang natin dahil siya naman ang magpapasya kung kailan niya nais magsalita muli. At gaya nga ng aking sinabi, meron namang umaandar na proseso para diyan. In the same way that I demonstrated to you the process that we followed in the PDAF cases, whether administrative or criminal, there are processes of law that government follows and complies with."
