Kho says sorry, claims he's also a victim
For the first time since the controversy broke, cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho faced the media Friday to air his side on the video recordings of his sexual escapades with several women, saying that he is also a "victim" since the videos were stolen from him.
Kho, speaking to the media in an undisclosed location in Makati, asked for forgiveness from his family, friends, and the women involved in the videos, one of whom is actress Katrina Halili.
"I deeply regret everything that has happened because of poor judgment. Nagsisisi na po ako sa dami ng mga nadamay, sa dami ng mga nasaktang tao, dahil may nagnakaw at nagkalat nung videos," Kho said.
He maintained that he is also a victim of the controversy since the videos, which he said were supposed to be private only, were stolen from him and were sold by a former friend. He also said that he is ready to face the consequences of his actions.
"Right now, I only feel deep remorse. I know it's too much to ask for forgiveness right now, [pero] sana, someday, people would learn to condemn the sin and not the sinner," he added.
He also appealed to the public to stop distributing and watching the videos.
Statement
On Thursday, Kho broke his silence on the matter by releasing a statement apologizing for the proliferation of the videos.
He said such were uploaded and reproduced without his knowledge and consent.
"The filming of an intimate, strictly personal, and private act is most unfortunate and truly regrettable, and I sincerely apologize for the harm it has done to other parties. I must emphasize that there was no malice on my part, or intention to hurt anyone with these recordings," he explained.
"I deplore the fact that without my knowledge and consent, these recordings were uploaded on the internet, downloaded, reproduced in optical media form, distributed, and sold to the public," he added.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has subpoenaed Kho, his former girlfriend Dr. Vicki Belo, and fellow doctor Eric Johnston Chua regarding the investigation on the alleged sex video.
Belo reportedly had a copy of the sex video while Chua was named as the person allegedly responsible for exposing it to the public.
On Wednesday, Halili accused Kho, her former lover, and others of violating the Republic Act 9262 or the law on violence against women and children. As part of the procedure, the sexy actress underwent a psychological evaluation in the NBI on Thursday.
Doctor no more
Given the extent of the controversy, Kho said he has decided to suspend his practice of medicine. "I own up to my responsibility as a professional, and have decided to suspend my practice of medicine."
Earlier, Halili asked the Professional Regulatory Commission to revoke Kho's license for videotaping their sexual intercourse without her consent. Halili's fellow stars, as well as other lawmakers, also condemned Kho.
Kho said the incident had a "mental and emotional effect" on his being, saying that he has been undergoing professional counseling since December last year. In the meantime, he said Atty. Lorna Kapunan would speak on his behalf regarding the issue.
"At this stage, I realize I cannot expect understanding and forgiveness. I can only pray that this comes in due time," he said. With a report from Jay Ruiz, ABS-CBN News

I totally agree with you aneyap.Katrina's aware with that camera. Why blame Kho all along? Shouldn't you be blaming yourself first? I mean you're having a relationship with Hayden even though you knew that Kho and Belo were still together at that time? C'mon now people does she have the right to yearn any respect? On the other hand, you don't even have any respect on yourself. What you did(having an affair with Hayden) was already wrong.IMMORAL.
And there goes the video. Your craving for everyone's sympathy Katrina. Huh! You wouldn't be in your situation right now if you hadn't sex with him. In the first place, it's your fault.
Kho's other victims
Just wanna inquire. One of the girls in the series of scandalous videos is a talent of abs-cbn. I wonder why as of now its all katrina halili. Anyway, most of the people i think expected that katrina really has a sex video with hayden kho. What surprises me is that there is a video of that talent subject of this query, who i heard that aside from being a model is also a doctor and from a respectable family. I am sick of hearing katrina's side of the story. Will abs-cbn air the side of the said talent soon?? I am really interested on what is happening to her right now. I really pity that girl. If you have only seen the comments on her video on several blog and websites.. tsk. tsk.

A LESSON TO KEEP
Everyone commits huge mistakes; thus we are not in the right position to judge other people like Kho and Halili. Let's take their words of apology. Let's us not add to the pain and agony that they are bearing right now. It has been done. Let our just God and authorized people in governement handle the situation. dapat jan kay hayden, palakarin sa buong pilipinas na nakahubad...o kaya balatan yang ari mo, at pigaan ng kalamansi at asin...na naka televise. walang kabayaran ang ginawa mong kahihiyan. kung may kamag anak, kapatid or pamangkin kang babae, at gawin din yan...ano kaya pakiramdam mo? anong insanity? matapos mong gumawa ng kagaguhan, claim ka ng insanity? insanity mong ari mo...dapat jan ipakain sa iyo..nang matikman mo ang kahihiyan na ginawa mo kay Katrina.
Ang sympathy ng tao ay nakay Katrina. kahit wala na syang mukhang iharap sa tao...

Hayden was also a victim? i find that hard to believe! that reason is one of the oldest tricks in the book. for hayden to escape prosecution would be for him to admit that he has psychological problems. that wont work with me. if were katrina...i would have him banned in the medical field for life...and be put to not a jail...but in prison! hes not a very good liar either. he first said on national tv that no sex videos ever existed now he says that there are 4 of them. whos he kidding?first of all may i ask you hayden kho why did u even take those videos in the first place? second your sorry that the video circulated over the internet and that made u a victim as u said,but ur not sorry for taking those videos without the consent of those people...ur not remorseful about it? then in that case u shud be treated harshly! how the hell did u even get to be a doctor? in my opinion my itsura ka...now how can I meet beautiful women...i know be a celebrity doctor and join the skin enhancement field or whatever you call it. that field has the oppurtunity to meet and victimize pretty women. lets face it hayden, lalake ako...the reason why you took those videos sympre para ma ipapakita mo sa mga friends mo. and lastly whatever happens to those video be it it was stolen from u or you wanted the world to know about it...your the one who took it so you will be held responsible for the damage that it has created therefore you have to suffer the consequences. you must not be forgiven!!!

im my own view kaya lang cguro nag boom ang issue ni hayden kho because sikat sila, itong website at wapsite na to dami d2 mga sex scandal, doctors, teachers na mga pinoy pero bakit di sila na iissue, bakit d na lang ung kahirapan ng pag hahanap ng work at paghihirap ng bansa natin pag tuunan keysa mga sex scandal.
