MANILA - Is the administration out to remove the Estradas from power?
Senator JV Ejercito could not help but think so after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualified his cousin, Laguna Governor ER Ejercito, for campaign overspending.

It came after his half-brother, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, was indicted for plunder.

The Supreme Court also recently gave due course to a petition seeking the disqualification of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
"Sa dinami-dami ng election cases, parang laging napapabilis 'pag dating po sa amin, sa pamilya Ejercito or Estrada," Ejercito told reporters on Thursday.
"I hope it's not a coincidence pero it's too much of a coincidence na nagkakasabay-sabay. Hindi naman siguro maaalis sa amin mag-isip na mukhang there's a concerted effort from the administration probably to remove the Ejercitos or Estradas, the remaining Ejercitos. Sana nga coincidence lang."
Ejercito maintains that his family remains supportive of the administration, recalling that his father supported President Benigno Aquino III in the aftermath of the Manila hostage crisis in 2010.

Ejercito said he also expressed support to the administration after typhoon "Yolanda" hit the country.
"We tried to remain as much as possible. Even if former President ran against President Aquino, he knows for a fact that we remain supportive and cooperative every time there's a crisis that this administration will be facing," he said.
