Gordon wants PCOS untouched, files motion with SC
MANILA – Former Senator Richard ‘Dick’ Gordon is asking the Supreme Court (SC) to block the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from removing the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines at the polling precincts or other temporary storage areas where they were kept after the May 13 elections.
In an urgent motion filed with the high court, Gordon said this would prevent anybody from tampering with its components, contents or software encoded in the machines.
Gordon also wants the Supreme Court to order Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes to provide him and other petitioners with a complete compilable digital copy of the source code for the automated election system.
Gordon ran with the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) but lost the race, landing 13th. Only 12 seats were being contested in the senatorial elections. -- ANC
