Napoles has completed affidavit - De Lima
MANILA – Businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles' camp is set to submit to Justice Secretary Leila De Lima before noon today her extended, comprehensive affidavit detailing the participation of several lawmakers, "agents," and other personalities in the multi-billion peso "pork barrel" scam.
Speaking to reporters, De Lima said the affidavit is now complete.
"Her lawyers texted me and told me tapos na, ang kulang na lang ay yung pagpapa-notaryo… Then they will submit to me before noon time," she said.
De Lima will transmit the affidavit, as well as the first and "initial" affidavit already in her possession to the Senate today, in compliance of the second extension granted her by the Blue Ribbon Committee.
The Justice chief reiterated her plea against making the affidavits public, while the vetting and evaluation of its contents have yet to be completed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
"I reiterate my position... of course, I'm not imposing on the Senate, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, and Sen. TG Guingona... but I reiterate my position na hindi na muna sana isapubliko ang mga yan," De Lima said.
She is also set to submit to the committee a copy of the contents of Benhur Luy's external hard drive, which supposedly show the accounting records in connection with the scam.
