The syndicate responsible for the distribution of the sex video featuring cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili might be the same "powerful" group supplying drugs to some entertainment people, Senator Maria Ana Consuelo "Jamby" Madrigal said Friday.

"We have information that Eric Chua and Bistek del Rosario sold the video to a person, who is involved with drugs," Madrigal told ABS-CBN's morning show, "Umagang Kay Ganda."

Kho had accused Chua and Del Rosario of selling his sex videos for P2 million, which Chua denied.

The senator admitted that Thursday's hearing failed to zero in on the important information because other senators focused too much on the "love story" angle of the sex video investigation.

She said the information was supported by Kho's revelation that a powerful syndicate supplied him and Katrina with ecstasy. She said she is planning to hold another hearing to focus on the drug syndicate, which Kho declined to identify for fear of his life.

"Hayden refused to give more details because there is a threat on his life," she said. The senator, however, did not mention if she will hold a closed-door hearing next time.

Dionisio Santiago, chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said they will try to ask Kho to provide them details about the people who allegedly supplied them with drugs.

Santiago said if Kho or Halili decides to cooperate, they might be able to use the information to boost an existing investigation against suspected drug syndicates, which are actively supplying drugs to entertainment people.

"We have our own monitoring and investigation. We'll see if we have the same information," the PDEA chief said, adding that the information from the two celebrities might be used by the agency as "enough basis" to implement arrests.

Ecstasy

Kho told the Senate committee on youth, women and family relations, headed by Madrigal, that he and Halili were high on ecstasy during their sexual encounter that was caught on video.

The cosmetic surgeon, however, declined to name the drug supplier, who, he said, is an influential person and known to many celebrities.

“Yes, this guy is very, very powerful, he knows the generals who can have me killed anytime,” Kho said.
He said the drug supplier could also be the one who bought the sex video files for P2 million and had them distributed.

Dousing, scripted

Meanwhile, Madrigal said she believes the dousing incident during Thursday's hearing was scripted to support Kho's request for an executive hearing.

"I think this is scripted to gain sympathy for Kho because we did not grant his request for executive session," the senator said.

She said the Senate will pursue the case filed against Abner Afuang, former police officer and town mayor, for pouring water into Kho's head during the hearing.

"We have to strict to avoid a similar incident," she said.

Afuang, meanwhile, said he is ready to face the case filed against him by the Senate's Sergeant-At-Arms. He also apologized for the dousing incident and insisted that it was not meant to disrespect the Senate as an institution.

He said his mind went blank and instantly poured water into Kho's head after seeing the "Korean." He said he have seen the sex videos and when he saw Kho, he thought of his daughter and all the other Filipina victims of the cosmetic surgeon.

"Nakita ko ang sex video, ang pambababoy. Koreano na bumaboy sa mga Filipina. Bilang dating law enforcer, galit ako sa mga ganyan. Kriminal ang tingin ko sa mga ganyan eh," Afuang said.

The former police officer is has been detained at the Pasay City Police Station.
