Heroic, selfless, gifted, outstanding, beautiful. These are but some of the words that describe the Filipinos and citizens of the world of Filipino descent who brought pride and honor to our country.  They stood up against corruption.  They risked their lives to save others.  They stepped out of their comfort zones to defend their principles.  They amazed the world with their grace, grit, talent and tenacity.  As the Philippines celebrates its 116th Independence Day, here are some proudly Pinoy moments from the past year.
