Palace steers clear of house arrest calls for Jinggoy, Bong
MANILA - Malacanang is staying out of the calls of Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon Revilla Jr. for a house arrest once warrants for their detention are issued by the Sandiganbayan.
Estrada, Revilla, and Senator Juan Ponce Enrile are all facing the non-bailable plunder case in connection with the alleged siphoning of pork barrel funds into bogus non-government organizations ran by alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.
The Philippine National Police has readied a custodial center at Camp Crame, but denied this is specifically for the 3 senators.
The 3 senators are expected to be the next-high profile arrests under the Aquino administration after it detained former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Arroyo for a plunder charge on the alleged misuse of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) funds.
Arroyo is detained at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center since she is suffering from complications from a cervical spine surgery in 2011.
