MANILA - Justice Secretary Leila de Lima disputes former President Joseph Estrada's claims she has prejudged the case of his son, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, over the pork barrel scam.

Estrada reportedly called for de Lima to resign over the issue.

"Di ko alam saan niya nakuha iyan. I'm not aware of any statement na nagbigay ng ganiyan," de Lima said.

"I respect people and their impressions of me. 'Di ko na mapilit na mabago. 'Di ko alam kung ano ibig sabihin ni President Erap," she added. "What exactly did I say? Ano po ba sinabi ko na ganun ang kaniyang reaction?"

"With due respect, Mayor Erap, I don't think I've said anything recently na ganun po. Ang sinasabi ko everytime I'm asked by media about the cases, marami nagtatanong 'kampante ba kayo.' My consistent answer is 'Yes, confident kami.' We would have not transmitted that to the Ombudsman if we’re not convinced of the strength of evidence."

"The Ombudsman has sustained us. The Sandiganbayan has issued warrants of arrest. Is that the same as saying I already concluded they are guilty? I'm not the court. I cannot say that," de Lima said.
