MANILA - The Taguig Pateros District Hospital is still closely monitoring lawyer Jessica “Gigi” Reyes, who suffered from panic attacks and hypertension early Thursday morning.
Dr. Rodencio Sta. Lucia said there is no request yet from Reyes’ camp for a transfer to a bigger hospital.
"Makakayanan dito (We can manage the situation here),” he said.
Reyes was found to have neurocirculatory asthenia and hypertension. Her lawyers said she was rushed to the hospital around 1:00 a.m. after suffering from a panic attack.
She had just been transferred at the Camp Bagong Diwa following a decision from the Sandiganbayan Third Division.
Sta. Lucia said: “We have to monitor her symptoms, check if the [attacks] will progress.”
He said he does not know when Reyes can be cleared but “hopefully, by tomorrow, we can come up with a bulletin on her situation.”
She already underwent basic laboratory tests this morning, including electrocardiogram test and complete blood count.
He said there is no problem with the security since the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology officers are there.
He said at least two people went to visit Reyes, so far.
He said Reyes, who also complained of back pains, was transferred to the second floor of the hospital since the room where she stayed initially can be occupied by 6 patients.
Her new room, which is smaller and air-conditioned, can accommodate 2 patients. She will be there alone, however, he said.
