MANILA, Philippines - Former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board directors are accusing this time the current members of favoring their respective hometowns when they gave more than 200 ambulances to certain provinces from September 17, 2010 - January 12, 2011.

Citing documents, lawyer Raul Lambino, counsel for the former PCSO board, said 17 ambulances were given to the province of Cagayan, which is the hometown of Dir. Mabel Mamba; 18 were given to Quezon, hometown of Chairperson Margie Juico, Director Aleta Tolentino and Dir. Betty Nantes.

On the other hand, PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas said the PCSO is apolitical and all the transactions are above-board.

For her part, Mamba said the list of provinces was already existing when they assumed office.

"Yun mga binigyan naming, we made sure na it was given to a local government unit attached to a hospital or rural health unit,” she said.
