MANILA – As it has done in previous survey results, Malacañang on Wednesday again shrugged off the latest survey result that shows President Arroyo's continuing low net satisfaction rating.

Social Weather Stations on Wednesday said their Second Quarter 2009 survey conducted from June 19 to 22, President Arroyo had a "bad" net satisfaction rating of -31%.

SWS found that among the 1,500 respondents to the survey, 26% said they were satisfied and 56% were dissatisfied with the president's performance.

"That is no longer new," Deputy Presidential Spokesperson on Economic Affairs Gary Olivar said of the survey result.

Olivar said that not many Filipinos see the work done by his boss, adding that "President Arroyo is all about performance and posterity, and not popularity."

Olivar added that people should instead listen to the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA), when Mrs. Arroyo will outline her administration's achievements.

Rating stable at 'bad'

According to the poll organization, the overall satisfaction rating of the President has remained stable at a "bad" -31%, compared to a "bad" -32% last February. SWS said lessened dissatisfaction was seen in the Visayas (now at -21 from -33) and Mindanao (now at -21 from -40) but was offset by an increased dissatisfaction in Luzon (areas outside Metro Manila, now -32 from -24) and Metro Manila (now -46 from -44).

SWS said their latest survey was conducted over June 19-22, using face-to-face interviews, divided into random samples of 300 each in Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao, and 600 in the Balance of Luzon.

The sampling error margins were ±3% for national percentages, ±6% for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao, and ±4% for Balance Luzon, the poll organization said.

The quarterly Social Weather Survey on public satisfaction with the President is a non-commissioned item, and is included on SWS's own initiative and released as a public service.

The SWS uses the following terminology for net satisfaction ratings: +50 and above, "very good"; +30 to +49, "good"; +10 to +29, "moderate", +9 to -9, "neutral"; -10 to -29, "poor"; -30 to -49, "bad"; -50 or lower, "very bad".

The full survey results may be accessed at the SWS website. With a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News

The "Bad" rating for Gloria

The "Bad" rating for Gloria Arroyo is way to generous...The mere fact that most if not all the filipinos rate her as HOPELESS !!!! She is so corrupted and incompetent, that i will forever go against voting for any woman in office again..since we already had 2 that literally destroyed our country into pieces, the 1st one was put in position as a symbol, and this present one was2 installed there by the husband, that worked behind the scene..from stealing vote, to robbing the country from everything...We filipinos must never again let a woman do a mans job !!!!! Gloria Arroyo,in my opinion is not the perpetrator here, but the people behind her, and once again, she was put there because of the greatdeeds her has done for the country,it was the Macapagals name, not the Arroyo, that got her were she is at..and now,The Arroyo name is synonymous to corruption, incompetence and all the evil things a politicans do to a country....
