Thanksgiving Mass held at Arroyo's Lubao home
MANILA, Philippines – A thanksgiving mass was held at the residence of former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Saturday morning.
The mass began at 8 a.m. at Arroyo's home in San Nicolas in the town of Lubao. It was attended exclusively by family and close friends of the Arroyos.
According to Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo, the priest prayed for the congresswoman who is still facing challenges.
Pelayo added that they never talked about the issue of Arroyo running for the 2013 elections.
At 10 a.m., the convoy of Arroyo went to San Vicente in Guagua, Pampanga to visit her Cabalen who gave her a warm welcome.
Initial information said that after her visit, Arroyo will head back to her home in La Vista, Quezon City.
On Friday, Arroyo left a health and wellness center in Tagaytay to visit her constituents.
Before proceeding to Pampanga, the congresswoman first visited the grave of her father, the late President Diosdado Macapagal, at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
Arroyo had been under hospital detention at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center for the past eight months. Her temporary freedom was a result of the granting of her motion for bail in connection with the electoral sabotage case filed against her.
On Wednesday, Pasay City Regional Trial Court Judge Jesus Mupas of Branch 112 allowed her to post P1 million bail, which her camp immediately produced.
Arroyo was released from the hospital on the same day and immediately went to her Quezon City home. -- Report from Trisha Mostoles, ABS-CBN News Pampanga
