Kris: Please pray that PNoy stays alive
Hits critics, asks PNoy's supporters to speak up
MANILA - TV host Kris Aquino encouraged supporters of President Aquino to make their voices heard and asked for prayers that his brother remain healthy and “stay alive.”
Speaking extemporaneously at the end of the mass commemorating the death anniversary of President Corazon Aquino, Kris said that "a great majority" of the people still believe in her brother but choose to be silent.
"The great majority of our people still really believe in him. They know what a good job he’s doing. Ang problema lang ‘yung mga bilib, tumatahimik. Siguro ako magre-request…," she said.
"Gusto ko hong engganyuhin lahat ng mga gusto ‘yung trabaho niya, gustong ipagpatuloy ang magandang ginagawa niya, bigyan natin siya ng lakas. He can’t do it on his own, we need to stand by him, and give him strength. And please pray with us also that he stays alive. Hindi, kasi parang gusto naming talaga na good health, wisdom, strength, courage and yes, the fortitude to last.”
Kris said she promised to constantly wear yellow after watching a "news broadcast" where reporters wore colors that showed their "bias."
"Two and a half weeks ago, ate and I were watching the news broadcast together. And kitang-kita namin ‘yung bias, ‘yung color ng kabila blatantly suot ng lahat ng nagre-report. So I told my ate, ‘Ate, mas marami naman akong airtime sa kanila. Starting today, magdidilaw talaga ako,'" she said.
"You know I think it took siguro what happened noong Monday (SONA) for all of us to realize that we should not be complacent na kung gusto natin si Noy, if we want him to succeed, all of us should be there with him. Hindi lang during the moments na kini-criticize siya but more importantly in the moments that he’s doing good."
Kris said she replies to her followers in her social networking accounts who say good words about her brother and blocks those who say negative things about him.
She said she and her kids pray for her brother every night.
"Please guide Noy, give him strength, bigyan niyo siya ng inspirasyon, palakasin niyo siya at sana yung mag naniniwala sa kanya, iparamdam sa kanya araw-araw na hindi siya nag-iisa," she said of her prayer.
"Mom, I know you’re so proud of your son. And in the same way, all of us here were so proud of everything he is and we know we are what we are because of our parents."
Kris’ eldest son, Joshua, was also present. Bimby, she said, was on his first shooting day with Vice Ganda.
"Sabi ko ‘Okay lang, tirahin niyo kami nang tirahin, marami naman kaming venue na iangat si Noy," she said.
