Malacanang defends Kris' support of PNoy
MANILA - Malacanang said presidential sister, showbiz personality Kris Aquino, is not doing anything wrong in calling for support for her brother, President Benigno Aquino III.
In an interview with radio dzRB, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said the TV host has the right to express her sentiments being the sister of the President.
There’s nothing “unusual” in what the youngest in the Aquino siblings is trying to do, he said.
During the fifth death anniversary of President Corazon Aquino, the TV host slammed the critics of his brother and asked that supporters rally around him.
“I think I have the right to speak because Noy knows how big the tax I have [been paying] ...So I think I do have the right to speak since it really is big,” Kris said.
She went on to say that the President needs the support of the public more than ever.
“He can’t do it on his own. We need to stand by him and give him strength. And please pray with us also that he stays alive,” she said.
“Our simple prayer is Dear God, please guide Noy, give him strength, help him. Give him inspiration, make him stronger, and may those who believe in him make him feel that he is not alone every day.”
