De Lima hopeful on confirmation
MANILA - Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is hopeful she will be confirmed by the bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA) despite the reported misgivings of some senators tagged in the pork barrel scam.
The Department of Justice and National Bureau of Investigation are investigating the pork barrel scam.
Some senators reportedly did not take lightly her comments Tuesday that some lawmakers will be charged and that they are still looking at senators and congressmen.
De Lima clarified she is being careful in making pronouncements, and she only said they will file cases against those who have evidence against them.
She hopes lawmakers understand she has a mandate to fulfill.
De Lima said she hasn't been summoned before the CA since she took office in 2010.
