Enrile ready to face probe on pork barrel scam
MANILA -- Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile is not worried that he may face criminal complaints over the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila de Lima yesterday said the NBI and DOJ will soon file charges against some lawmakers implicated in the scam.
Enrile was one of five senators earlier tagged in the alleged scam involving the Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) or pork barrel of lawmakers being siphoned off to fake non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
De Lima did not name those set to face charges and how many will be charged before the Office of the Ombudsman.
Nonetheless, Enrile said he is ready to face the investigation, asserting that the records of his PDAF allocations are complete.
Enrile also said that he believes the administration is not targeting political enemies in its investigation.
"Hindi naman. I don't think the President has anything to do with this," he said. -- Report from Ruby Tayag, dzMM
