Palace backs Tagle's concern on pork barrel
MANILA -- The Palace said the pork barrel should indeed be used to benefit the poor following Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio CardinalTagle's message to lawmakers implicated in the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Malacañang previously said it has undertaken steps to ensure that the lawmakers' Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) would not be lost to corruption.
So proper use of PDAF can be an effective tool for poverty reduction. This has also been stated by Bishop Soc Villegas in his statement. So it's good for the Cardinal to remind our legislators their purpose for PDAF, to provide and to help and to assist those who are in need in their respective districts," he added.
