Whistleblower Luy continues to battle own arrest warrant
MANILA - The lawyer of whistleblower Benhur Luy is set to ask a judge of the Pasig Regional Trial Court to inhibit from the case of qualified theft filed by Janet Lim Napoles against his client.
Lawyer Levito Baligod said they will also seek the withdrawal of the arrest warrant issued against Luy since this came out even before a preliminary investigation was concluded.
In her complaint, Napoles alleged that Luy pocketed P300,000 that she asked him to deposit in her bank account in December 2012.
Baligod said this was an attempt by the Napoles camp to force Luy to transfer to a city jail from the custody of the Witness Protection Program.
- from a report by Chiara Zambrano, ABS-CBN News
