P2M bounties for Delfin Lee, Palparan, Reyes brods
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE 2) - Malacañang on Thursday said it is offering 2-milllion-peso bounties for information that will lead to the arrests of Globe Asiatique owner Delfin Lee, former military official Jovito Palparan and ex-Palawan governor Joel Reyes.
Speaking to reporters, Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the President is "displeased with the lack of progress in the arrests of high profile fugitives."
He said the P2 million reward is for any information that will lead to the arrest of Lee, Palparan, Reyes and his brother, Mario, and former congressman Ruben Ecleo Jr.
The Palace also reminded the public of the existing reward of P5.6 million each for information leading to the apprehension of CPP-NPA leaders Benito Tiamzon and Jorge Madlos, both of whom also have outstanding warrants of arrest.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo said he hopes the increased bounty will help in the arrest of high-profile fugitives.
"Hindi tayo nasisiyahan sa hindi nila pagkahuli," he said.
He added there is no information that the high profile fugitives have left the country.
