Should gov't offer reward for Napoles' capture?
MANILA - Should the Philippine government offer a reward for the capture of businesswoman and fugitive Janet Lim Napoles?
According to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, Malacañang is leaving that decision up to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
"Hahayaan na po namin sa [Department of Justice] at [National Bureau of Investigation] ang pag-aaral kung kailangan magpataw ng pabuya para madakip si Janet Napoles," she said.
At least 12 teams from the NBI are looking for Napoles and her brother Reynald Lim, who are wanted for serious illegal detention of pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
De Lima earlier said Napoles was tipped off about the issuance of the arrest order, prompting her to go into hiding.
"There are reported sightings [of Napoles]... nakita mga sasakyan nila... but these have not been validated... she is a high-profile fugitive from justice," she said.
