MANILA - The Judiciary Employees Association (Judea) sent representatives in today's anti-pork barrel rally in Manila to join calls for the total abolition of discretionary and lump sum funds, and oppose the much-talked about term extension of President Aquino.

Heading the Judea delegation was Mar Aguilar, Judea vice-president, who told ABS-CBN News that while the Supreme Court (SC) has already struck down the pork barrel system and the Aquino administration's Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), government continues to employ the system "using other methods and other names."

Court employees nationwide began staging protests, dubbed as 'Red and Black Monday Protest,' since Aquino's televised national address on Oct. 30 where he defended the DAP and hit the high court for its ruling.

Judea also lashed back at Aquino's allies for threatening to impeach justices of the high court and abolish the Judiciary Development Fund (JDF).

Judea, supported by other state employees, also questioned the Bureau of Internal Revenue's move, under the Aquino administration, to tax the allowances, bonuses, and fringe benefits of court employees and other government workers.

A petition was lodged before the high court against the BIR.

Judea said it will remain vigilant in standing up for these causes, invoking judicial independence and the rule of law.
