Mar willing to give way to Noynoy presidential run
MANILA - Senator Mar Roxas said Saturday that he is willing to slide down to running as vice-president if his best friend, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, decides to seek the presidency and gets the support of the Liberal party.
"Ako naman po ay masunurin din. Nakikinig sa tao at nakikinig sa tawag ng panahon," Roxas told radio dzMM when asked what he will do if Aquino decides to run and gets the support of the people and their political party.
The senator confirmed that he and Aquino will meet this weekend to discuss the possibility of running as partners in 2010. He said there have been ideas of a Mar-Noynoy tandem even before Aquino's mother, former President Corazon Aquino, died.
"Dahil sa magkapartido kami, isa iyan sa mga nakukunsidera. Kung may pagbabago, siguro si Senator Noynoy lang ang makakapagsabi (Since we belong to the same party, [us running in tandem] is one of the considerations. Only Senator Noynoy can say if he had changed his mind)," Roxas said.
Roxas said the weekend meeting between him and Aquino will be succeeded with more meetings and consultations within the party's top members.
In an earlier interview, Aquino said the Liberal party has various mechanisms in place to choosing the best bet for the presidential elections in May 10, 2010.
Aquino said he has yet to validate the reported clamor for him to seek higher office in 2010. There were reports that Aquino is asking his supporters to wear yellow this weekend to help him decide what higher position to run for in the elections.
Roxas, for his part, said he is still determined to run for president and take the lead to reform the country, but he is also ready to bow down to the people's clamor and his party's decision.
"Ako ay handa nang magsilbi. Sana mabigyan ako ng pagkakataon (I'm ready to serve. I hope I will be given a chance)," he said, adding that he will not bolt the party and stick to Aquino's side if ever they decide against his desire to run for president.

Hindi ako masugid na sumuporta kay Cory Aquino. Meron din namang pagkukulang ang kanyang administrasyon ngunit kung ikumpara ito magmula kay Marcos hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay walang dudang ang administrasyon ni Cory ang nangunguna. Kung tutuusin mas may karanasan pa si Noynoy kaysa kanyang ina sa larangan ng pulitika bago tumakbong presidente. Ang kailangan lang ay malinis ang konsyenya at pagmamahal sa bayan ang mangingibabaw tulad ng kwalipikasyon ni dating Pres. Cory Aquino at katangian ni dating Sen. Ninoy Aquino.
Sangayon ako sa sinabi ni Mrs. Roco (Chairperson of Aksyon Demokratiko) na binigyan tayo ng magandang senyales ng Panginoon at alternatibo tungo sa totoong pagbabago. Wag nating mamaliitin si Noynoy. Kung tutuusin siya lang ang wala pang batik kung ikumpara sa lahat ng "presidentiables", AT YAN ANG PINAKAMAHALAGANG KATANGIAN NA KAILANGAN PARA MAGING PANGULO! I hope Noynoy will take the cudgels and stay in the righteous path once he will be elected as the new president. Sana lang papayag si Mar Roxas na maging bise na lang. better to use the popularity that he's getting because of his parents para pag nanalo sya he owes it to his parents. kahit nga ho hindi na gumalaw si noynoy pag naging presidente e , 4 years lang tayong maka save sa corruption ng isang presidente malaking bagay na para sa pilipinas. Noynoy huwag mong pasukin ang hindi mo kaya, kawawa lang ang mga kababayan mo. Ang mga nagtutulak sa iyo na tumakbo ay ang mga dating trapo na mga kurap na wala namang maitutulong sa bayan ng Pilipinas kung hindi mangulanbat sa kaban ng bayan. Hayaan mo na lang si Mar Roxas ang mamuno ng bansa sa 2010 para mabago ang buhay at kapaligiran diyan sa Pilipinas. Si Mar ay mas may kakayanan kumpara sa iyo at subok na ang integridad ni Mar na hindi nasasabit sa kahit anong anomalya sa gobyerno.

You're absolutely correct McLaren. Hindi biro ang napakaraming problema ng bansa. Paano nga malulutasan ni Noynoy ang mga problemang ito kung yung problema sa Hacienda Luisita hindi niya malutas?
Noynoy is trapo. Wala siyang ginagawa, walang accomplishments sa tagal na siya's senador. He didn't have his parent's intellect and tenacity especially Ninoy Aquino who went toe to toe with Marcos to the point of sacrificing his life for the people. Noynoy is content with his title. Pa-smile smile lang sa mga tao. Ganun lang, as if makakalutas ng problema ang pa-smile smile lang at mukhang mabait.
Mas maganda kung parehong hindi kakandidato si Mar at Noynoy kasi pareho lang sila. Si Mar, isang bill lang ang naisip na isulong. Susmaryosep. Ilang taon na ba siyang senador? Yun lang ang naisip niya samantalang maraming butas ang batas natin na dapat takpan ng mga bagong batas. Katulad ni Noynoy, trapo din si Mar Roxas at hindi dapat paglaanan ng kahit katiting na boto.

Mar Roxas pinahanga mo kami sa inyong paglilingkod at hindi lang sariling kapakanan ang iyong iniisip. kahit ano pa man ang maging resulta ng pang eendorso ng LP handa kaming sumuporta sa inyong dalawa mi Sen Noynoy. Ang importante kahit papaano malinis natin ang dumi at baho na iiwanan ni arroyo pati na pamilya niya at mga alipores.

MAR as president and NOYNOY as vice president of the Philippines is a good match at the moment. Should NOYNOY seek higher position, it will be done later. The MAR-NOYNOY team is the tandem to beat as against the administration. Do hope everybody's goal is to beat hard the administration after what they have done to the country...
Manoy for 2010
Naniniwala ako na ready na si Sen. Mar Roxas tumakbo bilang Presidente ng Pilipinas. Kailangan natin ng pagbabago at siya lamang ang makakagawa nito dahil honest siya sa kanyang personal na buhay at walang nakadikit na pangungurakot o pagkakautang sa kanyang pangalan. Hinog na hinog na si Mar. Si Noy, ready naman siya sa mas mataas na posisyon pero sa tingin ko, mas hinog na si Mar. Perfect kung Mar for President at Noy for Vice-President.
