Bigger reward for Palparan capture eyed
MANILA - Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said the department may propose a higher reward for the capture of retired Major General Jovito Palparan.
He admitted there is no significant progress in his capture. He said authorities will continue to determine his whereabouts.
The bounty for Palparan was doubled to P2 million early this year. He is wanted for the disappearance in 2006 of students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeno.
The issue on Palparan is again making headlines after President Benigno Aquino III said he earlier received surrender feelers from the fugitive.
It was this supposed lost chance that prompted him to meet with businesswoman Janet Napoles, who is being tagged in the pork barrel scam. – with reports from RG Cruz, ABS-CBN News
