Miriam's advice to tainted senators: Eat, drop and die
MANILA - Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago told her colleagues involved in the pork barrel scam to “eat, (blank), and die” in order to rid the country of corruption.
This was Santiago's comment after she was asked about it today at the sidelines of the hearing of the Commission on Appointments.
Santiago also suggested that Congress be abolished and for lawmakers to commit hara-kiri.
“You owe it to the Filipino people, we should all wear our Filipino robes, bow in front of the [TV] and then hara-kiri ourselves,” she said.
But before this, Santiago wants to ask Janet Napoles some questions.
The feisty senator is on sick leave but decided to attend today’s hearing. She said she will also be present at the Blue Ribbon Committee’s probe on the pork scam if Napoles appears.
Santiago said she wants to first ask Napoles: “Ano ang pinakamahal na handbag?”
She said she would want Napoles to feel at home so that her blood pressure won't shoot up, which may prompt her to skip the hearing. -- report from Ruby Tayag, DZMM
