Kapunan blasts Napoles 'reality show'
MANILA – Lawyers of detained businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles cried foul over the daily updates on her itinerary and photographs released by the Philippine National Police (PNP) to media.
On Friday, PNP spokesman Sr. Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac said 6 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed inside and outside Napoles’ cell are operational, but noted that the live footage will not be released.
One of Napoles’ lawyers, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, is worried that footage from the CCTV cameras taken inside the Fort Sto. Domingo may also be released to the public.
Sindac declined to comment on the alleged plans of the Napoles camp to ask the court to stop the release of information and photographs of Napoles.
Lawyers are also asking the court to postpone her arraignment on grounds of “humanitarian consideration.”
The PNP-PIO also released photographs of Napoles’ cell and Napoles herself being checked by a military doctor.
Kapunan also earlier appealed to the public not to make a circus out of her client's detention, saying it is not a "reality show."
