LP stalwart: Noynoy has accepted the challenge
MANILA - Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, son of democracy icon Corazon Aquino and national hero Ninoy Aquino, will run for president in next year's elections, a Liberal Party (LP) stalwart announced ahead of his expected declaration on Wednesday morning.
"Tinatanggap niya ang hamon ng ating mga kababayan, ng partido Liberal na siya ang maging standard bearer ng aming partido (That he is accepting the people's and the Liberal Party's challenge to be our party's standard bearer)," LP national chairman Franklin Drilon told ABS-CBN's Umagang Kay Ganda when asked what will be Aquino's announcement at Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan City.
Drilon added: "He will be the people's candidate."
Aquino, who went into retreat in his mother's favorite monastery in Zamboanga City, was expected to make the announcement at 7:30 a.m.
The announcement was timed with the 40th day after the late President Aquino's death.
The venue -- Club Filipino -- was the same place where Mrs. Aquino was sworn in as Philippine president after a bloodless people's revolt that ended decades of President Ferdinand Marcos' martial rule.

For those who still doubt NoyNoy Aquino's ability to govern, let me just quote Sen. Pangilinan's words which are worth pondering thus:
According to Pangilinan, Aquino is not merely “riding on his parents legacy because he had nine years experience in the House and three years in the Senate.
“He has accomplished a lot but was not given enough credit precisely because of his unassuming nature..."
“He is better prepared to assume the presidency than his mother was 23 years ago when she led the struggle against the dictatorship. More than years of experience, IT IS STRENGTH OF CHARACTER AND FORTITUDE that our nation needs today and we believe that Noynoy has the integrity, the grit and the guts to lead the nation.”
Let me just add that Noynoy filed and refiled a bill requiring the president's intelligence funds under COA audit yet, it was repeatedly blocked by the ruling majority. Now, you know how hard it is for an opposition congressman to achieve a very good accomplishment in Congress. Moreover, usually, it is not the politicians' ideas but the brainchild of their legislative staff who diligently make researches and draft bills to become a law. I am speaking this through experience because I was once a legislative staff officer of a former congressman. I know how Congress works.
TO OKIKS3 AND PSYLOM: What I'm trying to say is that, THERE IS REALLY NO POINT OF COMPARISON WHEN IT COMES TO ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN CONGRESS!
As regards Hacienda Luisita, Noynoy has already declared his intention to dispose of their family's ownership which I understand is only 1/32.

Public Order and Security
- kabi-kabila ang nakawan, holdapan, kidnapan at mga teroristang nasa mindanao. Nasaan ang accomplishments dito? Wala. Lalo ngang lumalala ang sitwasyon ngayon dahil hindi lang bangko ang hinoholdap pati yung ibang business establishments. Why? Hindi pinagtrabahuhan ng maayos at hindi pinagplanuhan ng tama. Ang grado: BAGSAK!
Transportation and Communications
- ano ang naging improvement dito? Every year maraming namamatay sa salpukan ng mga sasakyan. Matagal ng problema ito di ba? May solusyon ba ang committee ni Noynoy dito? Wala. Ngayon nga yung PNP pa ang nag-isip na magkaroon ng driving school para sa mga ignoranteng tsuper. Hindi trabaho ng PNP yun. Trabaho yun nina Noynoy. Ang grado: BAGSAK!
- sa communications naman, do we have internet access all over the Philippines? May access na ba sa internet ang lahat ng paaralan sa Pilipinas at least 90% man lang? Kakaunti lang di ba? Pero kailangan ang internet para sa research. So in short, ano ang naging improvement dito? Kung meron man, maliit lang. Medyo pagbibigyan ko si kalbo dito. Ang grado: PASANG AWA!
Agriculture
- may improvement ba dito? Ang bansa natin ay very rich in natural resources. Pero bakit nag-i-import tayo ng bigas at mga prutas sa mga bansa na hindi kasing yaman ng ating natural resources? Hindi ba naisip nina Noynoy at commitee na dapat bigyan ng atensyon ang agrikultura natin para pagyamanin ito? Hinde. Kaya ngayon, kung wala tayong ma-import na bigas, magugutom ang taong-bayan kasi kukulangin tayo ng pagkain. Ang grado: BAGSAK x 2
Natural Resources
- mukhang walang ginawa dito sina Noynoy. Why? Hindi nababantayang mabuti ang mga hayop na katulad ng sea turtles na hinuhuli ng mga chinese vessels sa loob mismo ng teritoryo natin. Wala silang plano kung paano po-protektahan at pagyayamanin ang natural resources natin. Take note, alam mo ba na nasa Philippine Deep ang pinakamalaking deposito ng hydrogen fuel? At kung ito ay mamimina natin eh malaki ang perang kikitain ng ating bansa dito? So ano ang accomplishments ni Noynoy dito? Wala. Because he and his commitee doesn't have the vision to develop these resources. Kaya ang grado: BAGSAK x 10
Trade and Industry committees (11th Congress)
- nag-participate lang siya dito. Yun lang. Walang accomplishments. Ang grado: BAGSAK.

Suffrage and Electoral Reforms
- Member pa ba si Noynoy sa commitee to computerize the election process? If yes, I'll give him a passing grade. I'm talking about the current computerization ha. Hindi yung past attempts.
Appropriations
- pakilista ang naging improvements dito kung meron man.
You also mentioned about Noynoy's key legislative initiatives. Public bidding? That's okay. Kaya lang, bakit yun lang? Hindi ba rin niya nakikita na maraming kulang na gamit ang Armed Forces natin? We have an air force that cannot fly (luma na at nagbabagsakan na ang mga eroplano) and a navy with aging warships. Hindi nga tayo uubra sa Taiwan kung giyerahin tayo. Kung hindi man ito nakikita ng ibang senador, sana man lang nakita ni Noynoy. Sana man lang nag-voice out siya sa senate tungkol dito. Kung yung sex scandal nga umabot sa senado, ito pa kaya?
Hindi ako pro-ARROYO. Pero Presidente natin siya. At sa loob ng walong taon, walang ginawa ang mga senador na ito kundi kalabanin siya at mag-stage ng rally sa Makati. Simula nung umupo si Arroyo, naging battle-cry na ng mga kalaban niya ang patalsikin siya puwesto. Pero lalo lang lumubog ang Pilipinas dahil hindi na nagtrabaho ang mga senador at kongresman na ito, Tingnan ninyo ang records. Ilan ang mga napasang batas? Mabibilang lang yata sa daliri. Ang daming kulang sa batas natin. Yan ang dahilan kung bakit ko sinabi na dapat sisihin din yung mga senador na yan (kasama si Noynoy) dahil kung hindi sila magtatrabaho, walang mangyayari sa bansa natin! Hinahanapan natin ng resulta ang Presidente? Ganun din dapat sa mga senador na ito. Regarding sa mga batas na hindi napirmahan. Paki-lista naman kung ano-ano itong bills na ito para malinaw. Madali kasing sabihin lang na maraming hindi napipirmahan.

An Act Like Christ... Mar Roxas

An ACT full of humility coupled with sincerity and dedication. UN blemish from personal desire but rather exemplified for a common cause. It is a Christ like act that is how I see the decision of Mar. How can one deny himself of things he had hope and planned for? In the same way we say Christ died not for His sins but for us. Mar made himself a sacrifice an offering for common good. How kind of a heart, how unselfish is the act.
This is the change that we the Filipino people must have, a change that comes from within our self our heart and our soul. A change that will give content and refinement to our being. In the past we have given way to leaders of our land with complacency and acceptance to the wrong that they do. Believing and letting our minds content itself for the non possibility of change. We are wrong in this thought.
Niñoy Aquino faced the surety of death and it gave life to a sleeping nation.
Cory Aquino exemplified to us that there exist honesty, sincerity, dedication in governance.
Mar Rojas gave us an example of change that comes from the heart to effect change. A very unselfish act for the common good of all.
Noynoy Aquino a magnification of all, the spark that will kindle the light for a brighter tomorrow.
And to us my fellow Filipinos whoever we are, whatever we are, this is Gods message and our prayers have been answered. Our future depends on us, the stage is set the actors have played their roles, let us now be one to a part of history in giving birth to a land we call,

Noynoy is just like his mother Pres.Cory,good and soft-hearted, but we don't have other choice except him, so we have to support him.
