MANILA, Philippines – Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao is back in the Philippines fresh from a successful world press tour in the United States to promote his upcoming fight with Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12.

Pacquiao was quick to parry queries over his plans to run for vice president in 2016.

"Huwag na muna nating pag-usapan ‘yan. Boxing lang muna tayo, boxing lang,” he said.

The same questions hounded the fighting congressman as he arrived in to a warm welcome in General Santos City.

This time, Pacquiao denied that he has plans to run for the second highest post of the land in 2016.

"Wala pa, hindi pa naman tayo qualified tumakbo ng vice president e. Kung may batas na ma-amend, titignan natin," he said.

The 1987 Philippine constitution states that a candidate for vice-president must be at least 40 years old to qualify.

But by 2016, Pacquiao will only be 37 years old and won't be eligible to run for the vice-presidency.

The Pacman said he is considering running for other positions.

He earlier said he plans to run as Sarangani governor in 2013.

When asked if he is interested to run for senator he said: “Tingnan natin. Matagal pa naman yan."

For now, Pacquiao's priority is boxing.

He is scheduled to face-off with Marquez in Las Vegas on November 12.
