Robredo's wife accepts posthumous award
MANILA, Philippines – In recognition of his exemplary, dedicated and valuable service, the House of Representatives conferred on Wednesday the Congressional Medal of Achievement posthumously to the late Interior and Local Secretary Jesse Robredo.
Robredo’s wife, Atty. Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, accepted the award on behalf of her late husband.
The resolution cited the many exceptional achievements of the late secretary.
He was also cited as a pillar of good governance and reformer.
The Congressional medal of achievement is the highest award given by the House of Representatives.
Lawmakers gave a standing ovation during the awarding ceremony, which was led by House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr.
Several lawmakers shook the hand and condoled personally with Robredo’s wife.
