'Palace not using pork to fast track budget OK'
MANILA - The budgets of the presidential communications offices went through smooth sailing at the House of Representatives on Friday.
The P68 million budget of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSO) and the P1 billion budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office were taken up during deliberations on the national budget.
The PCDSPO is headed by Secretary Ricky Carandang, while the PCOO is headed by Secretary Sonny Coloma.
Carandang denied reports that Malacañang is using the release of the pork barrel of congressmen to fast track the approval of the P2 trillion national budget for 2013.
Carandang said that the national budget is transparent, detailed and straight forward, which is why the minority bloc in Congress has very few questions, specially about the budget of their offices.
Malacañang hopes that before the end of the year, Congress can pass the budget that will be signed by the President.
