Netizens weigh in on plunder case vs lawmakers
MANILA-- Netizens weighed in on the strength of the plunder case filed against Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla and Juan Ponce Enrile, and other lawmakers.
The Department of Justice on Monday filed plunder and malversation complaints against people who are involved in the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Enrile, Revila and Estrada, former congressmen Rizalina Seachon Lanete and Edgard Valdez will face plunder filed against them by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Congressmen Rodolfo Plaza of Agusan del Sur, Samuel Dangwa of Benguet and Constantino Jaraula of Cagayan de Oro were accused of malversation, direct bribery and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
The eight chiefs-of-staff of 8 lawmakers were also charged with plunder, as well.
Plunder, malversation and graft and corrupt practices act violations are the charges against five heads of implementing agencies. Also, six heads of Napoles-linked NGOs were also charged for plunder and malversation.
In the first batch of cases, there were a total of 38 individuals who were charged for their involvement in the pork barrel scam.
The mastermind of this whole scam, Janet Lim Napoles, is also being charged as co-conspirator in the plunder case against 5 lawmakers, and malversation against 3 other officials.
Yesterday, TV Patrol asked the question “Tingin niyo ba ay matibay ang reklamong plunder laban kina Sen.
Danilo Denosta said on Facebook, “Maybe yes or maybe nagamit lang din sila.
On Twitter, most of the people agreed that the evidence presented against them is strong enough.
Gab Baustista (@gnbautista) said “Opo!
Gameday with Edward (@edjameswade) said “Yes a very strong case. Can't figure out how will these 3 senators defend their self.”
Bacchus (@bacchus2482) said “Matibay.
Leonardo Venancio Jr (@Leoisinspired) “Yup. Malakas ata padrino nila.”
Dig'zm (@Mamibudah) “Let the evidence speak for itself; may kasbihan nga sa batas "They are innocent until proven guilty; we better watch; listen but keep our mind awake”
As of Tuesday afternoon, the “truckload” of evidence is now being examined.
