MANILA - For failing to make a dent in the fight against illegal drugs and for other reasons, Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay today called for the resignation of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Jose Gutierrez Jr.
Magsaysay noted the recent controversies Gutierrez has been involved in, including his wife's alleged gambling activities.
The latter was disclosed by Gutierrez’s deputy, Carlos Gadapan, who was sacked this week by Malacanang due to “loss of confidence.”
Even without the recent revelations of Gadapan, Gutierrez should have been fired a long time ago for incompetence for his lack of accomplishment, Magsaysay said.
