Two Court of Appeals (CA) justices who were sanctioned in connection with the CA bribery scandal have appealed to the Supreme Court (SC) to reconsider its decision.
SC spokesperson Atty. Midas Marquez confirmed Tuesday that CA Justices Jose Sabio and Myrna Vidal have filed their motions for reconsideration with the SC and that these have been included in the deliberations of the SC en banc.
The SC earlier found Sabio guilty of simple misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a Court of Appeals justice, which meted him a suspension of two months without pay.
Vidal, on the other hand, was found guilty of conduct unbecoming of a CA justice and was admonished to be more circumspect in the discharge of her judicial duties.
Marquez said the decision on the two justices’ appeal is expected in the next few sessions. With a report from Timi Nubla, ABS-CBN News
