SC directs anti-pork petitioners to answer OSG plea
MANILA - The Supreme Court has directed the three petitioners questioning the constitutionality of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of lawmakers to submit their respective replies to the Consolidated Comment filed by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) on their petitions.
The consolidated cases were calendared in the agenda of Tuesday's en banc session, after the high court received the OSG Consolidated Comment on Monday.
The high court directed petitioners Greco Antonious Beda Belgica, et al., Social Justice Society, et al., and Pedrito Nepomuceno to file their replies within a non-extendible period of seven days.
Petitioners urged the high court to strike down the lawmakers' PDAF as unconstitutional, following the controversy involving the so-called pork barrel scam allegedly perpetrated by businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, several non-government organizations (NGO), implementing agencies, and several lawmakers.
